An Introduction to Astrology

I'm sure most of you must be aware about astrology. From among all the new age sciences, it is the most well-known. Astrology is the study of the planets of our solar system and how the affect us here on Earth. It is a very vast science and if we go in depth, we need the help of the exact time of birth, horoscope charts, we can get into the details of the 12 houses, different aspects, etc. But for now, lets talk about the primary part of astrology which are the Sun signs which make up around 70% of your personality.

The Sun is considered a very important part of astrology. It, as well as the Moon, are the most important of the astrological planets, and the two of them are often referred to as the luminaries. In Greek mythology the sun was represented by Apollo, the god of light and Helios the god of the sun. The Sun is the star at the centre of our solar system, around which the Earth and other planets revolve, and which provides us with heat and light. Astrologically  the sun is usually thought to represent the conscious ego the self and its expression, personal power, pride and authority; leadership qualities; and the principles of creativity, spontaneity, health and vitality; the life force. The sun also involves creative enterprises that are a projection of the person, from art and business to having children and parenthood (especially fatherhood). It also rules the fun side of life from sport and recreation to holidays and social events. In short, any occasion that 'allows us to shine'.

Everyone has a Sun Sign depending on their date of birth. They are:

Aries March 21st to April 20th

Taurus April 21st to May 21st

Gemini May 22nd to June 21st

Cancer June 22nd to July 23rd

Leo July 24th to August 23rd

Virgo August 24th to September 23rd

Libra September 24th to October 23rd

Scorpio October 24th to November 22nd

Sagittarius November 23rd to December 21st

Capricorn December 22nd to January 20th

Aquarius January 21st to February 19th

Pisces February 20th to March 20th

I will try to do a bit of a personality analysis of all the sunsigns one at a time using the help of Linda Goodman who in my opinion is one of the greatest astrologers of all time. So, please wait your turn as I decode the sunsigns one by one starting with the young innocent child of the zodiac, the Aries and ending with the wise Pisces.
